Pioneers in Computer Science 2.0

Pioneers in Computer Science is a production-grade encyclopedia of the most influential figures in computing history, spanning 12 centuries from ancient algorithmists to modern AI researchers. It features 184 curated biographies with portraits, achievements, notable works, awards, institutions, and fun facts. The app includes an Explore page with filters by era, gender, country, and field; a Timeline for chronological scrolling through pioneers grouped by decade; Insights with data visualisations (era distribution, gender breakdown, top countries, top fields); an interactive world map showing global birthplaces; an On This Day daily spotlight; a Cmd+K search palette with keyboard navigation; and pioneer detail pages with schema.org JSON-LD structured data and per-pioneer OG images. Built with Next.js 15 (App Router, RSC, static generation), TypeScript, tRPC v11, Prisma 6, PostgreSQL via Neon (production) and Docker (development), Tailwind CSS v4, Azure Blob Storage for portraits, Azure Communication Services for the contact form, and GitHub OAuth for the admin dashboard. Deployed on Vercel with a full admin suite for adding, editing, and deleting pioneers, image upload, data completeness panels, and activity analytics.
